MYC COVID-19 Update 5/29
MYC is finally “open for business” for 2020! We are operating under COVID rules and policies, but our goal is to provide you with the best season we can while we look for changes in the state guidelines.
Here are the highlights for the next few weeks as we open up:
Tomorrow is “Safe Social Sailing Saturday,” with the pontoons running from 10:30 to 30 minutes after sunset, and a safety boat on the lake from 11AM to 3PM. The CBF restroom will be available (LHI restrooms are still closed), and the crane will be ready to use (plenty of reservation slots still available, sign up here). Come on out, get your boat set up, and take a pleasure sail!
On Sunday we’ll have pontoon service from 10:30 to sunset – also a good day to get your boat set up and ready for the season. There are plenty of open slots for the crane on Sunday, sign up here.
Next weekend (Saturday June 6 and Sunday, June 7) we will start racing under modified rules! Household crews and single-handed boats are eligible to race if they are 18+ years old. We hope to get a clarification very soon about non-household crews. This is a priority -- we will keep you posted.
Rules for youth (under 18) skippers are also still up in the air, but we hope to see revised rules for youth sports soon. Currently skippers 18 years old and under are not eligible to race.
This Wednesday (June 3), LHI will open for off-hours access! It will be BYO everything for now. The LHI restrooms will also be open (single use only). Reservations are required and the reservation link will be emailed out on Monday, June 1.
Below is a document the explains the new COVID Member Responsibilities and Expectations. Please read carefully and follow them at all times. Also you will find a waiver below that everybody must sign as we operate under new COVID guidelines at MYC. You’ll see many changes and new signage to help us create a safe environment, but each member must take personal responsibility for following the rules to keep themselves, their families, and their guests safe.
We’re continuing to work hard to bring back the amenities we’ve always enjoyed, while staying in compliance with COVID rules. Having said that, we hope to see you on the island and on the water soon!
